Your institution owns its data
AtlasOA, LLC claims no ownership of institutional or student information. The data sits on your infrastructure, in standard formats, and you can take it with you.

Ownership
- Your institution owns all data it puts into AtlasOA or Atlas K-12 and everything the software produces from it. The AtlasOA software license and the Atlas K-12 Terms of Service both state this.
- We do not sell, share, or analyze your data, and we do not use it to train AI models.
- The data never has to reach us: it lives on your server. See Where your data lives.
What AtlasOA, LLC can and cannot access
We cannot
- Connect to your server or database: the software has no vendor connection and no remote-access capability
- Receive usage data or telemetry: there is none
- See your data through licensing: licensing never contacts us
We only receive
- What your staff choose to send us, such as a support email or a screenshot
- Business contact details for your purchasing and support relationship
Please do not send student records to support. Describe the problem or use sample data instead.
Your data is not held hostage
With a hosted product, leaving means asking the vendor for an export. With AtlasOA and Atlas K-12, the database is already on your server.
- The database is a standard SQLite file. Any SQLite tool can open a copy of it. No proprietary format or vendor tool is required.
- Uploaded files are ordinary files in a folder beside the database.
- Exports are built into the software. There is no separate export product to buy.
- If your license ends, your database, files, and backups stay on your server and remain readable with standard tools.

Current limits
- Neither product has a single "export everything" button yet. A complete copy today means copying the database file and the uploads folder, which your IT staff can do at any time.
- AtlasOA does not yet have a bulk download of all attachments; they are in the
uploadsfolder on your server. - Atlas K-12 does not yet have a student-level PDF report or an Excel export; CSV exports are available today.
- Neither product yet has an in-app tool to delete or anonymize an individual student's records; today that is a database operation your IT staff perform. See Known limitations.
When the relationship ends
- Your data is already in your possession. There is nothing to wait for from us.
- Keep the database file, uploads folder, and backups for as long as your records policy requires.
- Uninstalling AtlasOA deletes its data folder after a confirmation prompt. Copy the data folder first if you need it.
- The Data Processing Agreement covers the return or deletion of any institutional data that might be in our possession, such as files sent to support.
